Review Player Adventure Logs
At the start of the game session before play a Game Master should ask players if they can see their adventure logs. This will help you make adjustments to your story to consider what the players have done before.
- One Shot First: Act 1: Across the River: The Game Master should note if any of the players have completed Act 1 Across the River. In this adventure the Player Characters interacted with Dr. Gena Tan. In this adventure they are attempting to recover, the recently deceased Dr. Tan’s data cylinder. The Game Master can make it a point to highlight the players connection to this cylinder.
How to Introduce the Characters
PCs who played in One Shot First: Across the River or Justice be Served will already be introduced to Ranem “The Glove” Tiiv and be familiar with the fate of Dr. Gena Tan as they just recently completed a missions together. This is the easiest way for the PCs to be introduced. Their familiarity with Dr. Tan and her recent murder will give them an understanding of what the mission objectives are and what needs to be recovered this mission.
If the PCs are new to Legends of the Galaxy or this storyline, they are hired by Tyrius Sysworks Syndicate to pull of this heist job. If the PCs have completed the Jewel of Yavin the exploits of that job could be part of the driving force for Ranem Tiiv to choose to hire this group of PCs. If the PCs wish to learn more about Ranem Tiiv or Tyrius Sysworks Syndicate and succeed with Triumph they will be aware that it is a part of Black Sun. Otherwise they will know basic information that it is a criminal syndicate which has dealings throughout the Savareen Sector. If the PCs did not attempt a check or failed they only know they are working for a Businessman of significant influence in the local Rodia star system.
Ranem Tiiv will call the PCs to his office at the top of a tower in Karsteeku a domed city of Rodia. Here he will give the PCs the Contract in recovering a Data Cylinder that is of interested to Ranem Tiiv. This is the same Data Cylinder recovered in Across the River. It is the same Data Cylinder that had incriminating evidence of Ranem Tiiv’s operations in Justice be Served. The Cylinder left behind in Lt. Bonuda’s safe house has fallen into the hands of Ranem “The Glove” Tiiv’s rival Bollin the Grey. It must be recovered at all costs.
- Infiltrate the Gala
- Find an invitation
- Impersonate the help
- Steal the Data Cylinder before Bolin the Grey can reveal it to everyone at the Audience embarissing your benefactor, Ranem “The Glove” Tiiv.
- Escape the Gala with the Data Cylinder in tact and deliver it to Ranem Tiiv.
Ways to Expand the Adventure
Setting the Table: The PCs are introduced to this adventure when Ranem Tiiv invites them to his tower. When the PCs arrive Ranem Tiiv will enter his office where the PCs are waiting. He has some green Rodian blood on his shirt and his gloves are off. He will put his gloves on remove his shirt and walk over to a tailor who is waiting and begins taking measurements for a formal party attire. During the encounter with Ranem Tiiv he will occasionally step away from his tailor to address or coerce the PCs only to return to the Tailor to complete his work.
If the PCs failed to recover the Data Cylinder in Justice be Served he will remind the PCs his dissatisfaction with their sloppiness and replay the transmission for the PCs showing Dr. Gena Tan hand the Data Cylinder over to Lt. Bonuda. He will ask them why they failed to recover it when they were at the safe house.
If the PCs had recovered the Data Cylinder, or are new to the story, he will reference a recent break in and theft of the device and his need to recover it.
